Discover the Playhouse: A Hidden Gem of Amateur Dramatics

If you’ve never had the pleasure of experiencing the Playhouse, you’re in for a real treat! Established in 1949 as an amateur dramatics group, it was transformed into a theatre shortly after the war. Today, Players Drama School calls it home, and has since 1994 when the doors first opened to aspiring young performers. Notably, it’s the only school in Preston that operates out of a theatre, making for a truly unique experience.

Our Acting classes will boost confidence, enhance creativity, and sharpen communication skills. Whether you’re looking to pursue a full-time drama school or simply engage in the creative fun that theatre offers, our acting classes have got you covered. We’ll teach students various techniques such as improvisation, script work, and physical theatre. Additionally, we’ll help them develop their voice through accents, dialect, and character building.

SINGING

A Fun and Healthy Way to Boost Your Confidence. Singing has various scientifically proven benefits, such as reducing stress, building self-esteem, improving lung function, and increasing confidence. In our singing classes, our professional teachers instruct students on singing techniques as part of an ensemble, thus giving them the confidence to perform as soloists. We also provide students with the tools to extend their vocal range and have fun with their voices.

Our dance classes offer a great way for students to improve their strength, flexibility, coordination, and aerobic fitness.
